We are looking for a fantastic Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team here at Coombefield Vets.

The role will involve working in various departments, including the surgical prep area, kennel work, reception duties, pharmacy, and our in-house lab. Experience working in a veterinary practice is required, as is enrollment in or completion of a Level 2 Veterinary Care Assistant apprenticeship course. 

Our main site is an RCVS accredited, large, purpose-built hospital practice in Axminster, with a branch practice in Seaton.  

We have a separately staffed, dedicated OOH night service called Three Counties Veterinary Emergencies, working out of our Axminster site with surrounding practices feeding into this service.

Being in beautiful East Devon, the world-famous Jurassic Coast is on our doorstep, providing numerous outdoor activities both on and off the water. Axminster also boasts a mainline train link to London Waterloo. 

We are an integral part of the community, working closely with many charities and surrounding practices. We strive to continually improve our clinical standards, protocols and operating systems in anticipation of the future at Coombefield Veterinary Hospital. 

The hours will include a variable shift pattern, including full/part-time work, ‘early’ and ‘late’ shifts, but within the hours of 8am-9pm, 5 days a week, working Monday to Friday.  

Weekend work is also expected within the role as a 1in3 working weekend pattern. Time off in-lieu is given retrospectively for weekend work.
