The Role

We are looking for a Nurse who has referral experience to join us for a 12 month maternity cover to start in August. The role is a 5 day a week position working 8 hour shifts. Shifts range from the earliest starting at 7.30am and the latest finishing at 10pm. 1:8 weekends with time off in lieu after. On call shifts minimal. As a referrals nurse you rotate through our referral disciplines which include surgery, medicine, ophthalmology and cardiology. We see a range of interesting cases and patients. You assist our specialists in delivering anaesthesia, nursing care and chemotherapy to these patients.

About Us

Vale Referrals is just going through an expansion to provide new facilities and equipment for the team. This includes new ward areas, new prep room and theatres and new medicine facilities. We also provide onsite CT scanning for our patients.

We have a team of 8 specialist clinicians in referrals who are supported by 3 interns and 7 1st opinion vets. Our nursing team is currently 24 strong with many holding additional qualifications and certificates which helps to support and train the more junior members of the team.

Applicant Requirements

You should be willing to rotate through disciplines or have a heavy surgical bias. You should have the ability to work well in a close team structure as well as independently. Strong, experienced nursing candidates with no referral experience will be considered, if you have a keen interest to develop your career further within the referral sector.
