The Role

We are looking for a full time (part time applicants considered) Veterinary Surgeon to cover maternity leave in March & April 2021 but with the potential to go permanent. We offer 4 days per week where a typical day is 8:30-6:00, or 9:00-6:30. Weekend work is limited to a fair share of Saturdays, no greater than 2 in 5. This is currently only Saturday morning, but will revert to 8:30-3:00 or 4:00 as work returns to being more routine. Our OOH cover is provided by Vets Now.

About Us

Hunt's Vet Clinics first opened it's doors in 1966 and have been caring for small animals ever since. The practice is in a fantastic location, a short distance from the bustle of Manchester, and in easy access of the tranquillity of the Peak District. An IVC practice since July 2019, we retain the essence of our family values, that are recognised and appreciated by our staff and bonded clients alike, whilst gaining the benefit of the structure and HR support a corporate brings. We are an RCVS-accredited first opinion practice with 3 branches- our main branch at Poynton, and smaller branches at Woodley and Cheadle Hulme. Each site is furnished to a high specification. Currently we are performing urgent and emergency work and surgery at our Poynton branch, and making use of the smaller branches to create effective social distancing within the team.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for someone with good communication skills who can integrate within our team, bringing their individual expertise and interests to enhance the service we offer our clients. The ideal candidate will have the confidence and experience to undertake the full range of medicine and surgery provided from our varied caseload, and occasional sole charge at one of the branches.

As a Disability Confident Employer we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long term health conditions, and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
