We have an opportunity for an Experienced Vet to become a valued part of a progressive team in our friendly practice in beautiful West Wales. This role offers the potential for you to expand your professional interests and to help grow our services. We provide great clinical support and actively promote and encourage a healthy life balance.
As a well-established mixed practice located on Lampeter High Street for over 50 years, we have developed a successful brand based upon high standards of patient care and fostering good client-practice relation-ships. Our new colleague would step into a positive workplace with employee wellbeing at its heart.
You would be part of a varied team of Vets and supportive Registered Veterinary Nurses and receptionists that are committed to providing compassionate and professional patient care. At Steffan Vets we are all about the clinical and personal development of our expanding team, from supporting and investing in individual interests to mentoring our spritely new and recent graduates. With our large animal clients we pride ourselves on giving a proactive service as well as the more traditional services. We run frequent farmer meetings and workshops and are often involved with on-farm research projects.
Our staff are our priority, but we do have some equipment too - including laptop abdominal/cardiac ultra-sound, multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring, in-house laboratory, HD microscope, dental radiography, Easiscan, VetIMPRESS, and Bull & Ram Electroejaculators.
Our full time week is 40 hours with flexible working patterns available to provide our team with a positive and sustainable working environment and to support interests and responsibilities outside of work. We allocate time for communications, reflection and LUNCH! You would have an equal share in our small animal and/or large animal out of hours service (1 in 4 rota), which is proudly provided by our own vets and RVNs, with generous time off in lieu.
We are looking for a professional and considerate general practitioner with experience. We are not looking for perfection, to fit our clan you need to be someone who can make, follow through and reflect on their own decisions and get involved in our good-humoured practice discussions. We like people who lead by example and take time to care, for themselves and others.
As a Disability Confident Employer we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long term health conditions, and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
