We are looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Churchfield Veterinary Centre in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. We are keen to ensure that the working hours and benefits of the position match your needs as much as possible and could be part time or full time (40 hours per week) as required. There are no out of hours emergency duties. The rota includes some weekend work with additional time off the following week.
We are a small animal and equine practice in South Yorkshire with good access to beautiful countryside and major regional cities. The small animal department is a general first opinion practice working up surgical and internal medicine cases to a high level. Our very experienced small animal team includes 3 full time veterinary surgeons and 1 mixed small animal and equine veterinary surgeon. We are training as a VetGDP Adviser practice and are hoping to have 1 mixed small animal and equine new graduate veterinary surgeon starting in September. We work with a very experienced and friendly support staff team, which includes 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses. Our main centre at Barnsley is well equipped with digital radiography, colour doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, dentistry facilities and in house laboratory. We have a small animal branch surgery in the village of Skelmanthorpe, which is a 25-minute drive from Barnsley.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, well organised and self-motivated team player with previous practice experience. Good communication skills are essential. We encourage and support our colleagues' desire to develop interests in all areas of first opinion small animal practice.
