Here at Swayne and Partners, we are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. This is a very exciting opportunity to join our small, 3 Vet team in the historic market town of Newmarket in Suffolk.
The rota will include working four days a week 08:30 am – 19:00 pm. You will be able to build your own client base with regular 15-minute consultation blocks with time to work up cases and carry out surgical procedures.
You will be part of the weekend rota at our central surgery in Bury St Edmunds which operates on a 1:4 to 1:6 basis working day shifts. We provide our own emergency service to our own clients as well as other local practices giving you the opportunity to expand and develop your experience with emergency cases and complex inpatients.
Swayne and Partners established in the 1970s have grown into a multi-site practice offering exceptional standards of care to our patients. We have our own 24/7 staffed site situated less than 20 miles from each of our branches which can provide intensive care to those patients requiring hospitalisation. We pride ourselves on providing a personal, traditional service with the benefit of modern techniques and technology.
Swayne and Partners have a range of up-to-date diagnostic equipment at each branch which allows for extensive workups and excellent in-house care. The Bury St Edmunds surgery also has a CT scanner which is available for more complex imaging.
Newmarket is famously known for its racing industry and has a lovely community feel and is a very popular market town.
With over 20 Vets across the group, we have a huge range of experience to tap into with multiple certificate holders across the group and each branch has its own experienced and supportive nursing teams.
The Newmarket team comprises 3 FTE Veterinary Surgeons who are supported by a team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and receptionists.
Applicants will be required to be registered with the RCVS, have excellent communication and decision-making skills and surgical experience would be beneficial but not essential.
