Unlock your passions @ Plymouth Veterinary Group

Plymouth Veterinary Group is a supportive practice who pride themselves on fostering a leaning culture throughout their teams. We are located in Plymouth which has lots to offer. Set in beautiful Devon and close to Cornwall, Plymouth has the mix of a more laid-back city life as well as the outdoors on your doorstep. Walking on Dartmoor and beaches within half an hour, you are spoilt for choice for something to do.

We have a wonderful, friendly team of 12 Vets and 30 Nurses plus SVNs and ANAs who work well as a team and support eachother. There is also time for fun with socials being organised here and there by individuals as well as full practice socials a couple of times a year. Wellbeing is important and downtime is arranged as 'breather days' where everyone can come together in practice to catch up outside of the regular meetings that take place. Volunteering with Street Vet is undertaken by many of the Vets and Nurses within the Plymouth area too and is a great charity partner for IVC.

Practice facilities include laparoscopic bitch spays, endoscopy, echocardiography/ECG, a visiting Orthopaedic surgeon carrying out TPLO and complex fracture repairs as well as Heart Vets and Ophthalmology referral also take place within our own surgeries saving clients having to travel too far away. We also have a member of our team with an Exotics certificate as well as other team members currently working towards certificates in Medicine, Dentistry and Surgery and another in Exotics.

The rota operates Monday to Friday inclusive. In addition you will also be required to participate in a weekend rota. Please note New Graduates are not required to participate in OOH cover however 'seeing OOH' is encouraged to develop skills with Emergency and Critical care.

When you join the Plymouth Veterinary Group team, you are supported from your first day and through every step of your progression as a new Vet. A dedicated mentor will check in with you every week, offering support and assistance as a trained VetGDP Mentor. The wider team will assist with case discussions, systems support and wellbeing so there is always someone to talk to. Everyone is different and we will listen to you, encourage you and help you to develop your skills as a newly qualified vet at your pace.
