Unlock your passions @ Kingsteignton Veterinary Practice PSS Accredited

Kingsteignton Vets is a wonderful practice located in the small town of Kingsteignton which is close to Newton Abbot, Torquay and Abbotkerswell is a small village a few miles away. Dartmoor is around a 15-minute drive and beaches are a similar distance away. For culture and city events we have Exeter about 20 minutes away and Plymouth 30 minutes.

We have two fantastic sites and across both sites we have digital x-ray, dental x-ray facilities and ultrasound. Our Kingsteignton practice has an exotic incubator. Our South Devon (Abbotskerswell) PSS Accredited Veterinary hospital branch also has a CT scanner, endoscopy (flexible and rigid) and specialist ophthalmic equipment including phacoemulsification and laparoscopic spay

We have 6 Vets and 10 Nurses across our two sites. We also have certificate holders over our two sites in Ophthalmology, Surgery and Cardiology. We have monthly practice meetings where everyone is encouraged to attend, and the practice is closed for a short time to allow all staff to be available. We have work emails and a support group on Whatsapp so that staff can socialise or chat outside of work if wanted. A weekly update email usually scheduled to ensure that staff are kept up to date.

Step into a supportive start
Your normal hours of work will be 35-40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days per week, between 8am till 18.30pm. One Saturday every 6 weeks and no OOH!

We have one Vet who has to complete their VetGDP training and who is an experienced mentor. Several more of our Vets have many years of experience and are happy to support a new graduate with skills such as consulting and communication and surgical experience. The teams at each site are friendly and often meet up outside of work. Study towards a Certificate, (or CPD outside of Certificate study) would be funded by the practice. We also run occasional in house CPD sessions which all vets are invited and encouraged to attend. We are happy to discuss any CPD plans according to an individual's requirements.
