If you have experience of working in a busy referral environment and want the opportunity to make a real name for yourself across the industry, there may be no better opportunity for you to do just this!
Here at AlphaVets, we are looking for a Referral Surgeon who has experience managing and developing their own caseload, who is wanting to join an experienced team of clinicians and RVN’s as we look to continue to deliver first class referral level patient care across the Newport and Gwent area.
Over the years we have been proud to offer a comprehensive Referral Surgery Service (Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue & Spinal) which has brought cases from far and wide for our expertise. Due to a change in personnel, we are now looking to add an additional two surgeons into our hospital providing you with the opportunity to not only inherit a large, varied caseload, but the chance to push the service to a new level and make a name for yourself as the go-to surgeon across Wales.
Our State-of-the-art Hospital
Since being opened in 1996, we've invested heavily in state-of-the-art facilities to better serve our patients and their owners which includes but is not limited to: 3x Dedicated Consulting Rooms, X-Ray Room complete with State-of-the-Art Digital Processing, Ultrasound Scanner, Rigid Endoscopy, Isolation Ward and an In-house laboratory. It should be noted that if you have any specific equipment and/or requirements, we would be more than happy to invest in this for you!
We are situated just outside of Newport with amazing connections being just a stones throw from the M4 corridor making commuting from local (and not-so-local) areas feasible. Nestled between the two major hubs of Bristol and Cardiff, we have the perfect blend of stunning Welsh countryside on our doorstep in the form of Wye Valley, and all the amenities you can expect from living in a large city.
Your Support Network
We are looking for a confident and experienced Referral Surgeon who is just as comfortable working independently as they are working alongside further experienced surgeons. You’ll also have the support of a plethora of experienced RVN’s at your disposal and with our Out of Hours Service being covered by VetsNow, you can rest assured whatever support you need, you will receive.
Working Hours to Suit You
We are open to applications from both part and full-time applicants. A full-time position would be 40 hours per week with no out of hours.
