The Regional H&S Manager will support the Head of Health & Safety and National Veterinary H&S Manager in implementing and embedding H&S policy, systems, and training across veterinary clinics within a defined region. 
The role is hands-on, supporting Area Directors, Practice Managers, and local teams to ensure legal compliance, continual improvement, and safe operational delivery.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities: 

  • H&S Lead within region, support local H&S Representatives & forums. Provide H&S support and specialist advice and contribute to raising the H&S profile internally amongst colleagues and the wider business
  • Drive the Implementation of the H&S policy, Framework. Objectives and outcomes within the region. 
  • Support Health & Safety Management systems to ensure Workplace operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner
  • Undertaking targeted H&S Audits as part of a defined Audit Program & as part of H&S Incident Investigation
  • Support audit compliance and statutory inspections 
  • Provide coaching & guidance locally including promotion of safety culture on the ground 
  • Support H&S Incident Investigation processes within the region; providing Incident support & direction to Area Managers / Directors / Clinic for investigations they are responsible for and providing the practices in question with support. 
  • Minimise the likelihood of accidents and incidents and to effectively manage risks for the region, by effective evaluation of Incident Data 
  • Support a safe working environment compliant with all legal requirements within the region by ensuring that appropriate Risk Assessments, Procedures & Training are implemented
  • Liaise with safety representatives, regional teams within the allocated geographic area of operations. 
  • Support H&S team briefs, health and safety awareness or other training as required
  • Co-ordinate all outcomes from regional activities back into central H&S functions to enable a consistent approach to national H&S delivery model

    Experience/Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a multi-site, customer-facing or clinical environment
  • Solid understanding of UK H&S legislation and its practical application
  • Skilled in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with clinical teams and operational leaders
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel extensively across the region
