Anicare Vets Blanchardstown is looking for a Student Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team in a flexible weekend position that works around your studies. This role is ideal for a veterinary nursing student looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in a busy, modern small animal practice while continuing college commitments during the week. You’ll work every Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch break, with the opportunity to pick up additional weekday shifts around your availability and college schedule. It’s a fantastic chance to get your foot in the door within a well-established veterinary group while developing confidence and practical nursing skills in a supportive clinical environment.
Our newly refurbished Blanchardstown clinic is fully equipped with excellent facilities including a dedicated dental suite, separate operating theatre, digital radiography, and modern diagnostic equipment. You’ll be working alongside an experienced and welcoming team, including certificate holders in feline medicine and diagnostic imaging, creating a brilliant learning environment for a student nurse eager to grow and develop. This is a practice where questions are encouraged, support is always available, and students are genuinely included as part of the team.
As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you’ll gain exposure to all aspects of small animal practice including patient care, theatre support, inpatient nursing, laboratory work, consultations, and client communication. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic, organised, and eager to learn. Whether you’re already gaining placement experience or looking for your first role in practice, this position offers excellent exposure in a busy GP environment without the pressure of out-of-hours work.
There are no OOH requirements associated with this role.
This position is open to Student Veterinary Nurses currently enrolled in veterinary nursing studies, including students due to qualify in the coming years. You’ll ideally have some exposure to small animal practice already, but attitude and willingness to learn are far more important to us than experience level.
We’d love to hear from someone who:
Enjoys working as part of a team
Communicates well and stays organised in a busy environment
Is passionate about patient care and animal welfare
Wants to continue learning and building practical clinical skills
At Anicare, we place real emphasis on supporting and developing our nursing teams. This role offers a great opportunity to gain meaningful experience within a respected veterinary group while balancing your studies. Alongside your hourly rate of €14.15, you’ll also benefit from access to training, development opportunities, wellbeing supports, staff discounts, and the chance to progress within the wider IVC Evidensia network in the future.
If you’re looking for a supportive practice where you can gain valuable experience, develop confidence, and become part of a genuinely welcoming team, we’d love to hear from you.
