Cherrywood Veterinary Clinic | Loughlinstown, Dublin 18

Part-Time | Permanent Position

Up to 30 hours per week

Salary: Up to €32,000 FTE (dependent on experience)

Start Date: Mid-September 2026 (flexible)

Be the Heart of Our Practice

At Cherrywood Veterinary Clinic, we believe exceptional client care starts the moment someone walks through our door. We are looking for a friendly, organised and professional Veterinary Receptionist to join our close-knit team and become the welcoming face of our practice.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with both people and pets, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service. As the first point of contact for our clients, you'll play a key role in creating a positive experience for pets and their owners while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.

Whether you're greeting clients at reception, helping a nervous pet owner over the phone, or supporting the clinical team behind the scenes, no two days are the same, and every day makes a difference.

About the Role

This permanent part-time position offers up to 30 hours per week, with flexibility around working days and patterns.

You'll be responsible for managing front-of-house operations, coordinating appointments, handling client enquiries, processing payments, and ensuring the practice runs efficiently and professionally. The role combines customer service, administration, organisation and teamwork, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and being at the centre of a busy practice.

There are no weekends, no bank holiday shifts, and no out-of-hours requirements, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.

A Typical Day

As Veterinary Receptionist, you'll play an essential role in supporting both clients and colleagues. Your responsibilities will include managing appointment bookings, handling telephone and email enquiries, maintaining accurate client records, processing payments, and assisting with daily administrative tasks.

You'll also help with stock management and deliveries, support the maintenance of a clean and welcoming reception area, and develop a strong understanding of the products and services we offer. Most importantly, you'll provide a compassionate and professional experience for every client who contacts or visits the practice.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking an individual with previous experience in a receptionist, administrative, customer service or client-facing role who enjoys creating positive experiences for others.

The ideal candidate will be confident using computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, comfortable handling payments and discussing fees, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a busy environment. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication are essential.

Above all, we're looking for someone who is approachable, reliable, compassionate and enjoys working as part of a team. An interest in animal welfare is important, while experience with veterinary practice software or social media would be advantageous but is not essential.
