How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you will be supported and encouraged to develop both your clinical and non-clinical skills while working towards qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

You’ll be an integral part of the practice team, supporting patient care under the guidance of Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of nursing duties while progressing through your training programme and developing confidence in your day-to-day practice.

Working Pattern

The student nurse role is a 40 hours per week on a rota basis covering between the hours of 8am until 7.30pm to consist of 9 hour shifts with an hour’s lunch break and will include weekends and bank holidays.

You are a motivated and committed individual who is keen to learn, develop and build a career in veterinary nursing.

The student nurse apprenticeship is for a minimum of 24 months where you will be required to complete the College of Animal Welfare Veterinary Nursing Level 3 Apprenticeship course.

We find this is an excellent introduction into the veterinary profession, allowing you to learn and develop your knowledge and skills whilst working. 

You must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C (or 9-4), including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject.
