Here at Robson and Prescott, we are on the lookout for a friendly and approachable Veterinary Receptionist/Administrator to join our team on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. The role will include working at our branch surgeries so you must hold a full UK driving license.

You will have a vital role in welcoming our clients and their pets, dealing with queries, taking payments and managing bookings, both face to face and through telephone calls. The role is busy and engaging and your duties would be varied. This at times, can be very stressful and emotional due to the urgent and emergency nature of some of our work. 

You would be working on a shift basis to cover our opening hours at Whorral Bank, which are 8am-8pm Monday – Thursday & 8am-6.30pm Friday. You would also be required to work at branch surgeries and Saturday shifts on a rotational basis. 

A can do and proactive attitude is required. You will have a strong track record in the delivery of exceptional client service and be able to demonstrate a good level of computer literacy, the ability to multi task, and be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.  A full driving license is essential due to the locations of our branches. On occasion, lone working will be required so we are looking for someone with a proven ability to work well both within a team and alone. This includes stringent adherence to our health and safety and compliance procedures.

About Us Robson & Prescott has 9 different branches. Our main hospital is at Whorral Bank, Morpeth. Our branch surgeries are at Alnwick, Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth, Seaton Delaval, West Moor and Morpeth town centre & Newbiggin. Our state-of-the-art facilities at our Whorral Bank Hospital include four operating theatres, a dental suite, fully-equipped diagnostic laboratory, x-ray room, ultra sound including endoscopy facilities. There are separate wards for dogs, cats, birds, small mammals and exotics, a physio and hydrotherapy suite and six consulting rooms. Our Whorral Bank Hospital is staffed 24-hours and allows us to provide round the clock emergency care for your pet. This care is provided by our team of dedicated vets and nurses.

 

We have a large animal and equine wing with loose boxes, equine surgical facilities including an examination room and padded knock down box. The site extends to 3.5 acres with parking for 60 cars, horse boxes and stock trailers. The practice employs more than 100 staff, including 33 veterinary surgeons, 27 registered veterinary nurses, 7 student veterinary nurses, 6 nursing auxiliaries and a hydrotherapist. The four directors; Jane Barwick-Nesbit, Kate Matheson, Sam Prescott, and Carolyn Danbury have a very high level of expertise in each of their specialised areas.
