What You'll Be Doing

No two days in practice are ever quite the same. As the first point of contact for our clients, you'll play a key role in ensuring the practice runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your day will involve welcoming clients and their pets, answering telephone and email enquiries, booking appointments, processing payments and providing general administrative support to the clinical team. You'll also help manage deliveries, monitor stock levels and ensure the reception area remains professional, organised and welcoming at all times.

With a busy caseload and a constant flow of clients, you'll need to be someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and can remain calm, positive and professional, even during busy periods.

 

 

The Working Pattern

This role is primarily based around our Saturday clinic, working 9:00am to 2:00pm each week.

There may occasionally be opportunities to pick up additional shifts to cover annual leave or team absences, but these are entirely optional. There are no Sunday shifts and no bank holiday working requirements, making this an ideal position for someone looking for a predictable and flexible working pattern.

This opportunity would be particularly well suited to a Veterinary Nursing student or Veterinary Medicine student looking to gain valuable experience within a busy veterinary practice while continuing their studies.

Situated just outside Wexford Town, Arena Veterinary Hospital is a well-established small animal practice with a strong reputation for delivering excellent patient and client care.

We're fortunate to be located close to some of Ireland's most beautiful coastlines, including Curracloe Beach, Carne Beach and the stunning Raven Point Nature Reserve. Whether you enjoy long walks by the sea, outdoor activities or simply escaping into nature, Wexford offers a fantastic quality of life.

Inside the practice, you'll find an experienced and welcoming team made up of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Veterinary Nurses and 3 Receptionists. We work closely together, support one another and genuinely enjoy what we do. Creating a positive environment for both our clients and our colleagues is at the heart of everything we do.

 

 

Who We're Looking For

We're searching for someone who combines strong organisational skills with a naturally warm and caring personality.

Previous reception, customer service or administrative experience is essential, and you'll be confident using computer systems, managing appointments and handling payments accurately. Just as importantly, you'll have excellent communication skills and enjoy building rapport with a wide variety of people.

Experience within a veterinary setting is beneficial but not essential. What matters most is your ability to provide exceptional service, work well as part of a team and contribute positively to the welcoming atmosphere we've created at Arena.
