We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team at Lady Dane Vets on a full-time permanent basis.

Our Faversham practice is purpose-built, spacious site with ample parking, large consult rooms, separate dog and cat waiting areas and is located next to a large pet store. Its easily located from the A2 with easy links to Canterbury, London and Coastal destinations.  

Our smaller Whitstable practice has been recently refurbished and is located only a few minutes' walk from a beautiful beach and many novelty shops and restaurants. The local town also hosting the famous annual Oyster Festival.  

 

How You’ll Make a Difference

 

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.

 

Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.

 

Working Pattern

This permanent role offers 40 hours per week, on weekdays from 9am to 5.30pm. 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing a supportive and caring environment.
    Client care and reception support. 
    Assisting with patient care.
    Animal handling and restraint.
    Pharmacy duties, order unpacking, stock rotation, assisting in stock takes and labelling items.
    Cleaning and care of equipment, including maintenance and sterilisation of veterinary instruments.
    Help maintain asepsis and high standards of environmental cleanliness through all clinical areas, including laundry.
    Assisting with laboratory duties.
