We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team at Yorkshire Vets on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave

As one of the leading vets in Leeds and Bradford, we take pride in the exceptional level of care, compassion and service provided for you and your pets. We offer several local first opinion surgeries which work hard to serve their local communities and are supported by RCVS accredited Veterinary Hospital facilities. These surgeries offer all of the day-to-day facilities and services that you would expect from a local veterinarian. They are also staffed by some of the best surgeons, nurses and support staff in the region. Services and facilities at these first opinion surgeries include; health examinations, vaccinations, neutering, routine surgery, dental surgery and more.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.

Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.

Working Pattern

32 hours (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri) plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. 

Alternate shift pattern: Week 1 8:15am to 5:15pm, Week 2 9:30am to 6:30pm  

Key Responsibilities

Assisting veterinary surgeons during examinations and surgeries. 

Handling and caring for animals with empathy and compassion. 

Maintaining a clean and organised clinical environment. 

Providing exceptional customer service to clients at the reception desk. 

Answering and making phones calls, scheduling appointments and managing client queries. 

Assisting with billing and maintaining accurate records. 

This role is primarily Reception based, alongside supporting our clinical team with hands-on nurse assistant duties when required. The position requires previous experience in a veterinary, animal care, or similar reception-based clinical environment.
