About the role


Here at Tower Vets, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Veterinary Care Assistant to work at our branch in Perth.
Your role will include
  • Assisting Veterinary Surgeons and RVN’s with patient’s and adhering to the patient’s needs.
  • Manual handling and caring for animals with empathy and compassion.
  • Focusing on maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the practice.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
  • Running laboratory tests and packaging samples.
  • Help to maintain stock levels and ensure effective stock control and rotation, this may include ordering and monitoring of stock requirements and assist with the bi-annual stock take.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients at the reception desk.
  • Answering and making phones calls, including post-operative calls, responding to emails, scheduling appointments, and managing client queries.
  • Cash handling and maintaining accurate client records.

    The successful candidate will join our RCVS accredited single site practice in Perth, Scotland. Perth, a beautiful vibrant city in its own right, is known as the gateway to the Highlands. In central Scotland, you would only be an hour away from the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh but also within an hour of the Cairngorms and picturesque Scottish hills, mountains and Lochs for climbing, skiing, hill walking and kayaking.  We may be able to assist with relocation expenses. 

    We have an excellent team of 7 friendly experienced vets. We are looking to replace a much-appreciated Animal care assistant colleague who is changing career. The team also consists of three qualified nurses who have been with Tower for over 40 years between them and three Student Veterinary nurses, two who are due to qualify with in the year.  We have a great reception team and a practice manager full of ideas and enthusiasm.  

    About the rota and salary


    This is a full-time role working 36 hours between 8:00am- 7:30pm Monday-Friday and Saturday 9:00am - 1:00pm. Out of hours call outs are covered by Vets Now.   

    The salary will be up to £22,000 DOE per annum.
