We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at MBM Vets on a part-time basis.

 

MBM Vets are a long-established, progressive mixed practice based across Ayrshire, with small animal branches in Kilmarnock, Mauchline and Beith. Known for their supportive team culture, high clinical standards and commitment to work-life balance, the practice offers an excellent opportunity for a Small Animal Receptionist looking to join a friendly and collaborative environment.

 

How You’ll Make a Difference

 

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

 

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

 

Working Pattern

 
  • 12.13 hours per week
  • Working on a rota basis with shifts between the hours of 8:30am and 7:00pm Monday to Friday 
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays

    Key Responsibilities

     
  • Welcoming clients and their pets to the practice
    Answering telephone calls and handling client enquiries
    Booking and managing appointments, including already scheduled visits
    Providing information to clients regarding appointments and services
    Handling pre-authorisations, insurance claims, and Carefree Credit applications
    Taking payments and managing financial transactions
    Completing daily administrative tasks
    Maintaining a clean, fresh, and welcoming reception, waiting area, and facilities
    Relaying client queries to veterinary surgeons and nurses, and responding as appropriate
    Supporting ongoing client communication and follow-up
