We are excited to offer a brilliant opportunity for a Practice Director to join our Kingston Vets practice within new premises which opened in April 2024, based in the historic market town of Sherborne.
Lead a Successful Team
As Practice Director you will be responsible for overseeing the overall management and operations of our practice, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care for animals while maintaining a thriving, efficient, and profitable business. This role combines leadership, financial management, strategic planning, and staff development. You will work closely with our Clinical Directors and administrative teams to foster a positive, client-centred environment, while driving the practice’s growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage clinical and administrative teams, fostering collaboration, staff development, and a positive work culture. Oversee daily practice operations, including scheduling, equipment, inventory, and regulatory compliance. Develop and manage the budget, monitor financial performance, and implement strategies for profitability and cost control. Collaborate on marketing efforts to increase client acquisition and enhance the practice’s reputation.
Our Thriving Practice
We operate across three locations, offering small animal, equine, and farm animals, all conveniently situated close to each other. Our state-of-the-art facilities enable our clinical team to deliver veterinary care with a strong focus on maintaining high clinical standards, which we continually strive to develop and enhance.
Our team is a close-knit group of 30, including veterinary surgeons, nurses, support staff, and clinical directors. We are dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care and customer service, with a constant focus on raising our standards. Supporting one another and prioritising staff wellbeing is central to our culture. We actively promote team bonding through sponsored fundraising, social events, and other team-building activities.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced leader with a solid track record, especially working across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have successfully managed teams, driven performance, and cultivated a positive workplace culture. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for building strong relationships with staff, clients, and external stakeholders. The ability to multitask, handle competing priorities, and perform well under pressure is vital, along with a deep commitment to providing outstanding client and patient care.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, typically spread over 5 days. However, we are open to considering a 4-day work week. There are no weekend or bank holiday shifts associated with this role.
