We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Veterinary Animal Care Assistant to join our team. This role will be predominantly based within our Small Animal (SA) department, supporting our vets and nurses in delivering excellent clinical care to our patients.
 
We are a friendly and progressive mixed veterinary practice based across Uttoxeter and Tutbury, with dedicated teams for both small animal and large animal care. Our practice prides itself on delivering high-quality veterinary services alongside compassionate, client-focused care.

How You’ll Make a Difference 

 
 
As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.
 
Working under the direction of a veterinary surgeon or registered veterinary nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients. 
 
This is a full time position working 40hrs a week, including Saturday mornings on a rota basis. 
 
General responsibilities include:
 
  • Assisting veterinary surgeons and nurses with the handling and care of animals
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the practice
  • Preparing and cleaning clinical areas, equipment, and instruments
  • Supporting inpatient care, including feeding, walking, and monitoring animals
  • Providing excellent customer service to clients, both in person and over the phone
  • Assisting with administrative duties as required
