We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Haydon Veterinary Centre on a part-time basis.

Our patients include cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries and the occasional chicken, offering plenty of variety throughout the day. Our nursing team is incredibly supportive and hands-on, assisting in all areas of the practice to ensure the clinical team can focus on delivering exceptional patient care. We also operate our own ambulance, enabling house visits, alongside a nurse-led community visiting service that allows us to actively support the local community.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 2:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)

  • Welcoming clients and their pets with warmth, care and professionalism
  • Managing face-to-face, telephone and email enquiries efficiently
  • Booking and coordinating appointments across the clinical team
  • Handling payments and client records accurately
  • Supporting clients during sensitive or emotional situations with compassion
  • Working closely with vets and nurses to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Keeping the waiting area and reception clean, tidy and stocked with support materials
