As a Veterinary care assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinary team to ensure the well-being and comfort of our patients. Responsibilities
You will be working in our busy wards department, a fast-paced area of the hospital dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care to our hospitalised patients. As a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA), your role will involve assisting the team with daily tasks such as restraining patients for examinations and medication administration, creating care plans, maintaining hospital cleanliness, walking dogs, feeding patients, and more. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your animal handling skills and expand your veterinary care knowledge.
What We’re Looking For
Animal Care/ Handling experience is essential. Animal care qualifications are desirable A strong team player with confident and effective communication skills. Be proactive and have good time management skills Self-motivated and happy handling animals under supervision. Accuracy in following instructions and maintaining records. Eagerness to learn new tasks and adapt to new challenges.
Working Pattern
The hours for this role are Monday- Friday with shifts between 7am-9pm. There are no weekends or OOHs, but the successful applicant will be expected to participate in a bank holiday rota and part of that will consist of you working 1-2 bank holidays per year.
