If you love working with people, enjoy a busy and varied day, and want to be part of a genuinely supportive team, this could be the perfect role for you. At O'Shea Bramley & Breen Vets, our reception team plays a central role in everything we do.
As the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, you'll help create a warm, welcoming and reassuring experience from the moment they walk through the door. This is more than just a front desk role – it's an opportunity to be part of a well-respected, forward-thinking practice where client care and teamwork go hand in hand.
As the first point of contact for our clients, you'll play a key role in creating a warm and professional experience for every visitor. This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same.
The role includes welcoming clients and their pets, answering telephone and email enquiries, booking and managing appointments using our Merlin practice management system, processing payments and end-of-day cash procedures, maintaining stock levels, assisting with deliveries, supporting general administration, maintaining high standards throughout the practice, and developing product knowledge to confidently assist clients with their queries.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, remains calm under pressure and thrives in a busy environment. Previous reception, customer service and administrative experience is essential, and experience working within a veterinary practice or with animals would be a distinct advantage. Strong computer skills, excellent communication, attention to detail and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service are key to success in this role.
This is a full-time position working 4.5 days per week, based on an 8-hour working day.
Our practice is open during the following hours:
Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 8:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Your shifts will be scheduled on a rota basis within these opening hours. While exact working hours may vary from week to week, there are no Sunday, Bank Holiday, or out-of-hours requirements.
We offer a strong work-life balance, with any overtime worked being paid back as time off in lieu (TOIL).
Flexibility is important, as shifts will be arranged to support the needs of the practice across our operating hours.
When you join O'Shea Bramley & Breen Vets, you'll become part of a supportive team that values collaboration, continuous learning and career development. You'll benefit from:
A welcoming and collaborative practice team
Ongoing training and development to build your skills and confidence
Opportunities for career progression within the practice and wider organisation
A positive culture focused on wellbeing, teamwork and continuous improvement
