We’re looking for someone genuinely warm, friendly and approachable to become the face of Arena Veterinary Hospital. This is a role where personality really matters - you’ll be the first person our clients meet, setting the tone for every visit. If you take pride in great customer care, enjoy helping people, and want to be part of a supportive, down-to-earth team, you’ll fit right in here.
We’re ideally looking for someone full-time (around 40 hours per week), but we’re happy to have a conversation if part-time hours would suit you better.
This is a busy, people-focused position where no two days are the same. You’ll be based front-of-house, welcoming clients and their pets, answering calls, managing appointments, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
The role is primarily Monday to Friday, with shifts falling between 8:30am and 7:30pm. There’s only very occasional Saturday cover (9am–2pm) to help with annual leave - no Sundays or bank holidays, so you can enjoy a consistent and balanced routine.
You’ll be responsible for handling bookings, processing payments, managing enquiries and supporting the clinical team with general admin tasks. There’s also a practical side to the role, including helping with stock, deliveries and keeping the reception area clean, organised and welcoming at all times.
Arena Veterinary Hospital is a friendly, small animal practice just outside Wexford Town, within easy walking distance. We’re lucky to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, including Curracloe and Carne, with Raven Point Nature Reserve just a short drive away.
Inside the practice, you’ll find a close-knit, supportive team made up of 5 vets, 4 nurses and 3 front-of-house colleagues. We genuinely enjoy working together and place a strong focus on creating a positive, welcoming environment for both our team and our clients.
We’re hoping to find someone who is confident, organised and naturally friendly, with a real interest in both people and animals. Previous reception or customer service experience is important, and you should feel comfortable using computer systems, managing bookings and handling client payments.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a calm, professional manner are key. You’ll also need to be a team player – someone who’s happy to pitch in, support others and contribute to the positive atmosphere we’ve built here.
We offer a competitive salary along with great benefits, including:
Leave: Annual Leave, Birthday Leave, Paid Maternity, Paternity, Bereavement, and Sick Leave
Wellbeing: Cycle to Work Scheme, EAP Access, Free Flu Jabs, Retail Discounts, & Access to Company Programmes (LGBTQ+, Wellbeing, etc.)
Career Development: Career Progression, Leadership Academy, Annual Pay Reviews
Financial Support: Employer Pension Contributions, Discounted Staff Pet Veterinary Fees
If you’re looking for a role where you’ll feel valued, supported and part of something genuinely friendly, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply now and take the next step in your career — we can’t wait to welcome you to the team.
