We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Animal Care Assistant to join our team at Victoria Vets on a part time basis, working 30 hours per week. The role will predominantly be based at our Aberdare site, with some Reception cover at Dowlais as needed.
Victoria Veterinary Practice is a community-minded, multi-branch veterinary practice. Both our sites (Dowlais & Aberdare) are situated in the South Wales valleys with easy access to Cardiff. Our Dowlais is site is near the beautiful Brecon Beacons. Our state-of-the-art facilities boasts advanced equipment. At our Dowlais site, we have a dedicated lab for all in house testing, dental suite, 2 theatres, separate dog and cat kennels, large prep area, isolation ward, ultrasound machine with cardiac probe, digital radiography. At Aberdare, we have Digital xrays, dental suite, separate dog/cat kennels and an ultrasound machine.

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely. You will be supported by our Head Nurse and Senior Receptionist.
Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.
The role will also include Reception cover as needed, which involves you be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.
