We are currently seeking a motivated Animal Care Assistant to join our dedicated team at Border Vets Pets in Oswestry. Our practice has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality care to our clients and their beloved pets.

Our ideal candidate


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience as a Veterinary Care Assistant or at least two years of experience in an animal care role. We are looking for a proactive team player with excellent organisational and communication skills who can work effectively alongside our friendly team.

About the role


Responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to: handling kennel duties, supporting the clinical team, managing laundry and cleaning tasks, overseeing stock control, and assisting with laboratory work. The successful candidate must also possess confidence and enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service, as some Reception cover will be required. This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, with one in three Saturdays expected.

The salary will be up to £22,308 DOE per annum.

Our practice is made up of a friendly, close-knit team, consisting of 6 vets, 3 registered veterinary nurses, 4 student veterinary nurses, 2 animal nursing assistants and a dedicated reception team.
