The Role 

We are currently looking for a Veterinary Receptionist on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a part time role working two days a week 8.30am - 7pm (9.5 hours per day) plus a third day which can be 9.5 hrs or 5.5 hrs to suit applicant. In addition, we also require holiday cover and participation in a 1 in 8 Saturday rota which is mornings only.
Duties for this role include but are not limited to:

• Welcoming clients
• Booking appointments using practice management system
• Answering queries in person and over the telephone
• Basic administration
• Taking payments
• Issuing medication once dispensed
• Cashing up at the end of the day
• Contributing to online marketing through Facebook
• Making sure reception area is welcoming and attractive
• Some merchandising and helping to create displays on notice boards

We are a small, modern, purpose-built practice based in an excellent location in Norwich, Norfolk. Our team is made up of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Veterinary Nurses and a fabulous reception team. We have an emphasis on providing high quality patient and client care and are proud of our strong relationships with our clients.

Applicant Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be a confident IT user, a good team player and have good numeracy skills. Previous receptionist experience is essential and previous veterinary reception experience is advantageous. An interest in marketing and social media as well as a SQP qualification are desirable but not essential.
