Registered Veterinary Nurse – Night Nurse (Inpatient Care)

Overnight inpatient nursing role with 11–12 hour night shifts. Rota pattern is flexible and will be discussed at interview.
Village Vets & Meadowbank Veterinary Centres are a well-established veterinary group with practices in Buckley, Northop and Childer Thornton. Our Buckley branch serves as our hospital site, providing both first opinion and referral services including soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, emergency and critical care, internal medicine and rehabilitation.
Our experienced team includes veterinary surgeons and nurses with advanced qualifications across multiple disciplines, including ECC, Advanced Veterinary Nursing and Anaesthesia. This creates a stimulating clinical environment with a varied and rewarding caseload.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse working in our overnight inpatient care role, you will play a vital part in maintaining continuity of care for hospitalised patients. This position focuses entirely on inpatient nursing, allowing you to deliver attentive monitoring and high-quality care throughout the night.
You’ll work closely with the veterinary team to ensure every patient receives excellent nursing care and that the daytime team has clear clinical updates to support ongoing treatment.
Deliver high-quality overnight nursing care for hospitalised patients
Monitor and manage complex medical and surgical inpatients, including those with feeding tubes, urinary catheters and chest drains
Administer treatments, medications and supportive care as prescribed
Maintain detailed patient records to ensure seamless handover to the daytime team
Work collaboratively with the wider veterinary team to support excellent clinical outcomes
Work a flexible rota covering 11–12 hour overnight shifts, totalling approximately 33 hours per week
We’re looking for a compassionate and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys inpatient care and takes pride in delivering attentive nursing support for hospitalised patients.
Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
Experience caring for medical and surgical inpatients
Confidence monitoring hospitalised patients and recognising changes in condition
Strong organisational and communication skills
A calm, proactive approach when working independently overnight
