We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Taverham Veterinary Hospital on a permanent basis, with a focus on surgical nursing.

Taverham Veterinary Hospital is entering an exciting phase of expansion, offering a fantastic opportunity to join a large, forward-thinking hospital team. Alongside our main hospital, we also operate branch practices at Longwater Lane and Bure Valley, providing a blend of advanced clinical care and strong client continuity.

Our hospital is equipped with excellent facilities including a CT scanner, dental suite, four operating theatres, dedicated cat and dog wards, and isolation facilities. We also offer hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and a veterinary-led cattery, creating a varied and progressive clinical environment.

    How You’ll Make a Difference

     

    As a Surgical Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

    You’ll work closely with veterinary surgeons and the wider nursing team, supporting surgical procedures, anaesthesia, theatre nursing and perioperative patient care. This role is ideal for an RVN who enjoys being involved in surgical cases and wants to continue developing their skills within a busy hospital environment.

     

    Working Pattern

     
  • 38.5 hours per week
  •  4-day working week, 3 shifts per week, 9:30am to 8:00pm, 1 shift per week, 9:30am to 7:30pm 
  • Hours are negotiable and can be discussed at interview stage 
  •  2 in 8 weekends, made up of 1 short weekend in 4 and 1 long weekend in 4 
  •  2 bank holidays per year

    General Responsibilities

     
  •  Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring, theatre nursing and patient preparation 
  •  Provide high standards of perioperative and inpatient care 
  •  Prepare theatres, equipment and surgical kits to support smooth clinical workflow 
  •  Monitor patients before, during and after procedures, supporting safe recovery 
  •

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
