We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Ciliffe Equine Hospital on a full-time basis.

Cliffe Equine is an established RCVS Accredited Equine Hospital based just outside Lewes in the East Sussex countryside.
The practice is set in the beautiful Sussex countryside at the base of the South Downs, just a few miles from the vibrant market town of Lewes and a short drive from Brighton. Direct trains to Gatwick Airport and London Victoria. 

We are a 7 vet practice with full surgical facilities including a hospital facility (17 boxes). We have a team of qualified and trainee Equine Nurses. Equality, diversity, and inclusion is at the heart of our culture.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours per week however, we are open to part-time applications
  • Working a combination of 7:30 - 16:30/ 08:30 - 17:30 and on duty shifts
  • 1:4 out of hours and weekend rota.
  • General Responsibilities

    Your responsibilities will include general nursing to include medical care, inpatient and outpatient care, assisting the vets in and out of the hospital, setting up of the X-ray, ultrasound, gastroscopies and all other equipment needed by vets, to run blood samples in house, set up and break down of theatre pre and post-surgery, nursing duties in theatre during surgery and to always ensure excellent clinical and general horse care!

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
