We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Bilton Veterinary Centre on a full-time basis.

 

Bilton Veterinary Centre is a long-established, single-site small animal practice in Rugby, proudly serving the local community for over 75 years. We are a friendly, supportive team with a strong reputation for delivering high standards of patient care and excellent client service.

 

Our well-equipped practice includes five consulting rooms, two sterile theatres, dedicated dental suites, digital and dental radiography, ultrasound with cardiac probes, in-house laboratory equipment, ECG, and a newly refurbished isolation suite. As an ISFM Cat Friendly accredited practice, we are committed to providing a calm and comfortable environment for our patients.

    How You’ll Make a Difference

     

    As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

     

    You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

     

    Working Pattern

     
  • 40 hours per week
  • 4-day working week, with shifts between 8:00am and 7:30pm
  • Weekend work is shared fairly across the team, with Saturday clinics running until 1:00pm and inpatient care supported until 4:30pm
  • No out-of-hours requirements, with care transferred to a dedicated provider outside of these hours

    General Responsibilities

     
  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
  • Run and support nurse-led clinics, promoting preventative healthcare and client education

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
  • A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
