At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Are you looking for a role that combines variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to deliver exceptional nursing care across practices in your local area? We are seeking a confident RVN to join inspiring vet care on a full-time basis as an Area Veterinary Nurse, working clinically across a bespoke network of practices centred around your home location. This is a fixed-term contract expected to last 12 months, with real potential to become a permanent opportunity for the right person.

The role focuses on flexibly delivering high-quality general nursing care and ensuring our teams are fully supported during busy periods, staff absence, or increased clinical demand.

Working across multiple practices brings both variety and reward, with each site offering its own team, caseload, and way of working. This makes the role well-suited to a confident and adaptable nurse who enjoys meeting new people, integrating quickly into different environments, and contributing positively wherever they are based. You will work with 6-8 local brands regularly, as well as providing occasional cover in other sites if and when needed.

Reporting to the Area Director, the role covers a designated region around West London and Surrey, including Ealing, Twickenham, Windsor, Ascot, Woking, Godalming, and New Malden, with some flexibility on these locations based on operational requirements and commuting capacity. As part of the role, you'll receive a £375 monthly car allowance to support travel across your designated practice area, which will generally be a maximum commute of 75mins, but often much less, depending on your home location.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As an Area Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider inspiring vet care team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care across our practices.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days per week at your preference. The role doesn’t have any regular weekend or OOHs work but may include occasional weekend or bank holiday cover if needed, which would be compensated with TOIL.

General responsibilities include:

Admit and discharge patients for routine procedures and deliver outstanding nursing care at all times.
Run nurse clinics and provide accurate advice to clients on preventative healthcare, products, and practice policies.
Assist veterinary surgeons with surgical procedures, anaesthetic monitoring, diagnostics, laboratory work, imaging, and inpatient care.
Maintain accurate patient and client records, dispense repeat prescriptions, and support reception duties when required.
Ensure all SOPs, Health & Safety regulations, and infection control procedures are followed across all nursing duties.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, equipment care, stock control, and clinical waste disposal throughout the practice.
Support and train Student Veterinary Nurses and carry out Schedule Three procedures where appropriately trained and registered.
Participate in rota commitments, stock takes, appraisals, and general practice support duties as required.
