We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Island Veterinary Associates on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Island Veterinary Associates is a friendly and supportive practice with a knowledgeable team and a varied first opinion caseload. This is a great opportunity to join a professional and collaborative environment where you’ll be able to contribute to high standards of patient and client care across two well-equipped sites.
You will work primarily from our Wombourne branch, with one day per week based at our Stafford branch. Our Wombourne site is equipped with x-ray, ultrasound, and laboratory facilities, while our Stafford site also offers x-ray, ultrasound, laboratory facilities, dental x-ray, and access to an orthopaedic certificate holder.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
This is a varied role where you will be involved in all aspects of general nursing, including inpatient care, theatre support, anaesthesia monitoring, nurse consultations, diagnostics, and client communication.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract working 40 hours per week over 4 days. Shifts are 8:15am–7:15pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. The working pattern will be Monday, Tuesday, and Friday at our Wombourne branch, Wednesday at our Stafford branch, with Thursday as a set day off. There is also a 1 in 4 Saturday rota, working 8:30am–12:30pm.
General responsibilities include:
Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
Assist with diagnostics, including imaging and laboratory work
Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
