Veterinary Nurse – Small Animal
Rathcoole Veterinary Clinic | South Dublin
Full-time, Permanent
Salary up to €36,000 DOE
Start date from April 2026 (flexible)
A Nursing Role With Space to Learn, Grow and Shape
Rathcoole Veterinary Clinic is offering a genuinely exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Nurse who wants to feel valued, supported and involved in the future of a growing practice. Whether you’re a newly qualified nurse looking for the right place to build confidence and clinical skills, or an experienced RVN ready to put your own stamp on a clinic, this role can be shaped around you.
This is a chance to be part of a close-knit, friendly team where your voice matters and your ideas are welcomed. You won’t be one of many here – you’ll be a key part of how the clinic runs and develops.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on nursing position covering all aspects of first-opinion small animal practice. Your day will include clinical nursing, surgical rotations, inpatient care, nurse clinics and client support, to keep the practice running smoothly as a team.
Importantly, there is no out-of-hours or on-call work, allowing you to enjoy a healthy and sustainable work–life balance while still working in a busy, rewarding environment. The clinic operates Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturdays on a shared rota system.
A Practice Where You Can Make Your Mark
Rathcoole Veterinary Clinic is a modern, well-equipped first-opinion small animal practice, fitted with an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, dental equipment and ultrasound. The caseload is varied and interesting, offering excellent exposure for developing nurses and plenty of scope for experienced nurses to work confidently and autonomously.
The team currently includes a Veterinary Surgeon, a Veterinary Nurse and an ACA, creating a supportive, personal working environment where collaboration and communication come naturally. As the practice continues to grow, this role offers the opportunity to help shape nursing protocols, workflows and the overall direction of the clinic.
Who This Role Will Suit
We welcome applications from all levels of Veterinary Nurses. Experience is beneficial but not essential, and newly qualified nurses are very welcome to apply. If you’re a new graduate, you’ll find this to be a fantastic learning environment with exposure to a fast-paced first-opinion caseload and strong support around you.
If you’re an experienced RVN, this is an opportunity to influence how the clinic operates, develop areas of interest, and play an active role in shaping standards and processes.
All applicants must be VCI-registered to practise veterinary nursing in Ireland.
