We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our small but friendly team at Highertown Veterinary Clinic in Truro. Highertown Veterinary Clinic is one of the longest-established practices in Truro, proudly serving our local community and their pets for generations. Our team takes great pride in offering compassionate, high-quality care in a friendly, approachable way and our loyal clients have stayed with us through it all, with some families trusting us for over 40 years.
Our small but dedicated team of 3 vets, 3 nurses, 1 receptionist and 1 Practice Manager share a strong bond built on teamwork, laughter, and a shared passion for animal welfare. We truly believe in creating an environment where everyone looks out for one another and where every patient is treated as if they were our own.
A well-equipped and supportive environment
Our clinic is equipped with general and dental X-ray facilities, ultrasound, and the usual in-house lab machines for quick diagnostics. You’ll work alongside an experienced clinical team who collaborate closely every day, sharing ideas, discussing cases, and supporting one another to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
We’re also passionate about giving our nurses the space to do what they do best from inpatient care and anaesthesia to nurse consults and client education, you’ll have the chance to use your skills to their full potential.
Working hours
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed term position, consisting of 40 hours per week. Shift patterns will be 08:30 - 17:30 or 10:00 - 19:00 Monday to Friday, with participation in a 1-in-3 Saturday morning rota of 08:30 - 12:30.

We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a caring nature, great communication skills, and a positive, team-focused attitude. Ideally, you’ll have some experience in practice, but we’re also happy to consider a confident newly qualified nurse ready to take the next step in their career.
