At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Sundean Vets in Lydney on a part-time, 9-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.
Sundean Vets is a well-established, two-branch small animal practice in the Forest of Dean, with practices in Lydney and Cinderford. This role is based at our Lydney practice, where you’ll be joining an experienced, friendly and supportive small animal team.
At Lydney, we value teamwork, good communication and high standards of patient care. Our typical working day includes two to three RVNs and two vets, giving our nursing team the opportunity to work alongside each other and support a varied first opinion caseload.
We have a structured nursing rota, with RVNs allocated a mixture of nurse-led consulting appointments and dedicated theatre days. Wednesday would be your main surgery day, working closely with the surgery vet, with the rest of the week offering a good balance of consulting, theatre and general nursing.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
