We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at McKenzie Vets on a full-time basis.
Mckenzie Vets is a long established, single site small animal practice in Alexandria with a reputation for the highest standard of care for our patients. It is close to the beauty of Loch Lomond National Park but also commutable from Glasgow and Stirling. We have Cat Friendly Silver status and have achieved GP in Practice Standards Scheme.
Practice Highlights
Small but highly capable practice with a supportive and collaborative team culture.
3 consulting rooms, dedicated theatre, and a fully equipped in-house laboratory.
Advanced equipment including digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, laser therapy, and acupuncture.
Experienced nursing team comprising 3 RVNs (including 2 certificate holders), 1 SVN, and 1 VCA.
Team of 5 vets, with 2 currently working towards certificates in surgery and cardiology.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
Working Hours
40 hours per week
Working 4 days per week, Monday to Friday
1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am-12:30pm)
No OOH responsibilities

Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
