At Acorn Vets, we believe that great veterinary care starts with a great team. We're looking for a friendly, adaptable and enthusiastic Veterinary Nurse to join our welcoming practice in Mallow, where teamwork, community, and patient care are at the heart of everything we do.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse seeking genuine flexibility, clinical variety, and a positive working environment. Whether you're newly qualified and ready to begin your nursing career, or you're an experienced RVN looking for a role that offers a better work-life balance, we'd love to hear from you.
You'll be joining a close-knit and supportive team of vets, nurses, and support staff who genuinely enjoy working together and are passionate about providing exceptional care to both patients and clients. Every day brings something different, and you'll play a valued role in ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of veterinary care.
This permanent part-time position offers 24 hours per week, with flexibility around how those hours are worked. We understand that everyone's circumstances are different and are happy to discuss working arrangements that suit both you and the practice.
Our clinic operates between 8:30am and 6:00pm, with shifts scheduled on a rota basis. The role also includes a 1 in 3 Saturday rota and participation in a minimal out-of-hours emergency on-call service. The commitment is exceptionally light, with nurses typically called out only around three times per year on average.
As a Veterinary Nurse at Acorn Vets, you'll enjoy a varied caseload and be actively involved in all aspects of practice life. You'll have the opportunity to utilise your nursing skills across surgical, medical and inpatient care while building strong relationships with clients and supporting them throughout their pets' healthcare journey.
Working closely with our experienced veterinary team, you'll be encouraged to contribute your ideas, continue developing your clinical skills, and take pride in providing outstanding patient care every day.
Acorn Vets has proudly cared for animals and supported pet owners and farming communities throughout North Cork for many years. Our practice has built a trusted reputation through a combination of high-quality veterinary care, strong client relationships, and a genuine commitment to the communities we serve.

You'll be based in our Mallow practice, where you'll become part of a supportive and collaborative team environment. While we also have a sister site in Kildorrery, this position is based solely in Mallow and there is no expectation for regular travel between practices.
As part of the IVC Evidensia network, Acorn Vets benefits from access to industry-leading resources, professional development opportunities, and a wider support network, while maintaining the same local identity, close-knit culture, and trusted relationships that make the practice so special.
