Oakham Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our experienced team. 

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-equipped hospital offering 24-hour care,   Salary up to £30k DOE

 

You’ll be working in a friendly team of vets, nurses and client care who value collaboration, clinical excellence and a positive working environment. 

Our facilities include digital x-ray, dental suite, in-house laboratory equipment, modern anaesthetic monitoring and separate cat, dog and isolation wards. We are also proud to be a Gold Standard ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic, promoting low-stress handling and patient-focused care.   

We have two operating theatres, including laparoscopic equipment, endoscopy, ultrasound and echo.  We have a resident Cardiologist with visiting Orthopaedic surgeon and medicine certificate holders. 

 

How You’ll Make a Difference 
 
 
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. 
 
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. 
 
 
General responsibilities include:
 
Deliver nursing care across theatre, inpatient and consultation settings 
Support anaesthesia, surgery and patient monitoring 
Run nurse consultations and provide preventative healthcare advice 
Work collaboratively with the team to deliver excellent patient and client care

Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS 
Experience working in clinical practice 
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues 
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively 
A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
