Our wonderful practice in White Cross Vets, Northampton is looking for a part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a permanent basis. This is mainly a consulting role, but some operating time can be discussed if preferred. Also, we’re thrilled to offer full certificate support for any candidates that require it.

 

About Us

Our fantastic team is currently made up of 5 Veterinary Surgeons (2 with medicine certificates, and one with an imaging certificate), 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, a Student Nurse, and 3 Client Care Coordinators (one with a VCA qualification). We’re a well-equipped site with digital x-ray, a new ultrasound machine, tonovet, Dental x-ray, idexx procyte dx haematology, idexx catalyst one biochemistry, idexx sedivue dx, new microscope, otoscope/ophthalmoscope, 2 multi-parameters, ECG machine and a doppler.

Work Pattern 

  • 20 hours per week, ideally two 10-hour shifts. We can discuss different rota patterns, but some evening shifts are essential.

    As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. 

     

    You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues

  • Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
