Looking for a role that offers variety, support, and the opportunity to work alongside a larger clinical team without losing the feel of a close-knit practice?
We're looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Practitioner to join our team across City Vets and The Pet Hospital in Waterford, providing a unique opportunity to enjoy the benefits of working across two well-established practices within the IVC Evidensia network.
This role combines the personalised client relationships and continuity of care found at The Pet Hospital with regular exposure to the busier hospital environment at City Vets. You'll work alongside a wider team of experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses and support staff, giving you access to collaborative case discussions, shared expertise and a diverse caseload.
Whether you're seeking full-time or part-time hours, we're keen to build the role around the right person and are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
You'll enjoy a mix of consulting, surgery and medical case work across both sites, with opportunities to develop your interests while maintaining the variety that makes general practice so rewarding.
Working across both City Vets and The Pet Hospital means no two weeks look exactly the same. You'll benefit from:
Exposure to a broader and more diverse caseload
Regular opportunities to collaborate with a larger veterinary team
The chance to build strong client relationships across two established practices
Access to experienced colleagues for case discussions and clinical support
The autonomy to manage your own cases while never feeling professionally isolated
At City Vets, you'll be part of a busy and supportive hospital environment, working alongside colleagues with a range of clinical interests and experience levels. At The Pet Hospital, you'll enjoy the rewarding continuity that comes from serving a loyal client base within a smaller practice setting.
Together, they create a role that offers genuine variety, excellent support and plenty of opportunities for professional growth.
While the role will involve working across both locations, you'll be joining one collaborative team with a shared commitment to high clinical standards and exceptional patient care.
Our teams work closely together, supporting one another through case discussions, shared decision-making and a culture that encourages learning and development. You'll quickly get to know colleagues across both sites and become part of a friendly, welcoming environment where everyone's contribution is valued.
This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon who enjoys building relationships, sharing knowledge and being part of a wider team while still having the opportunity to develop strong bonds with clients and patients.
We're interested in speaking with VCI-registered Veterinary Practitioners who enjoy small animal general practice and are passionate about delivering outstanding care.
You'll be comfortable managing a varied first-opinion caseload and confident working both independently and collaboratively. Previous experience in general practice is desirable, and while some sole charge may be required at The Pet Hospital, you'll have the reassurance of close support from the wider City Vets team.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is personable, team-focused and excited by the opportunity to work across two thriving Waterford practices.
