Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal
Midforest Veterinary Practice | Lyndhurst, Hampshire
Salary up to £70,000 DOE, welcome bonus up to £5,000 and relocation allowance up to £5,000
At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
Midforest Vets has proudly supported its local community for over 40 years, building trusted relationships with both clients and their pets. We are now looking for a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team and play an important role in continuing that tradition of care.
The caseload is varied and engaging, with patients including cats, dogs, rabbits and the occasional tortoise or hamster. The role has a slight bias towards consultations, with a strong focus on working up medical cases and building meaningful client relationships that support continuity of care.
Surgical work is predominantly routine, with a high number of dental procedures, offering a well-rounded clinical mix. There is a degree of sole charge, so confidence and independence are important, although support is always within reach, with another vet available by phone whenever needed.
Our Lyndhurst practice is set within a beautiful 16th-century thatched cottage just outside the village, creating a unique and welcoming working environment, with occasional shifts at our Totton branch only 15 minutes away. Across both sites, you’ll have access to digital radiography, dental X-ray, ultrasound and in-house blood analysis, along with the essential tools to deliver high-quality care.
You’ll be joining a close and supportive team of six vets, seven RVNs and a dedicated client care team led by our Practice Manager. With certificate holders in ultrasound and dentistry already in place, we actively encourage further development and are happy to support certificate study.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
