Salary up to £70,000 DOE plus a relocation allowance up to £5,000 and welcome bonus up to £5,000.
Barton Lodge Veterinary Centre has an exciting opportunity available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team, either on a Full Time or a Part Time basis. We pride ourselves on providing an excellent service to our clients and their pets and take care of a varied caseload.
You will have access to a varied case load with the opportunity to work cases up, with the support of experienced colleagues if required, ensuring that our high quality of client care is maintained. Our working pattern allows a good mix of consulting and surgical time. We can also provide you with the opportunity to pursue any specific interests.
This role is working up to 4 days per week with 1:4 Saturday mornings. There will be no out of hours, Sundays or bank holidays. We are very fortunate to be a Vets Now host practice. This means that all our in-patients are well cared for in our own premisses by the Vets Now staff every night.
About our practice
Barton Lodge is a long-established small animal practice situated in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. We are a short walking distance from the town centre that offers a variety of facilities close at hand, and also close to a lovely park for relaxation. Hemel Hempstead is only 30 minutes away by train from London, and 15 minutes from Luton airport.
We are a single-site practice, and all our rooms are air-conditioned. We have access to several good referral centres although many complex cases are managed at the clinic, including orthopaedics. Our up-to-date facilities include a dedicated operating theatre, 3 consulting rooms, a large prep area, separate dog/cat wards, an imaging/dental area with digital X-ray facilities (standard and dental), MyLab 25 Gold E-SAOTE ultrasound scanner, extensive in-house lab, ECG, and tonometer.

CPD is encouraged and well supported with an excellent CPD budget and additional staff benefits. We are a very friendly, close, and inclusive team that promotes a supportive culture and discusses cases when necessary. We are very supportive of CPDs if you want to focus on a particular area of care.
