Here at Scarsdale Vets, we’re on the lookout for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our established team on a permanent basis. This role would be based at our Shelton Lock site. We see a mix of both routine and emergency medical and surgical cases and consistently strive to deliver the highest quality of care to our patients, and our clinical team is instrumental in delivering that ethos. We’re offering a welcome bonus of up to £5000 (pro rata), as well as relocation support of up to £5000.
Rota patterns that work for you
We offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle and interests. Whether looking to balance home and work life or around the school timetable we can offer flexibility that works for you. It’s essential that you enjoy what you do so we will work with you to create a role that suits your interest and skill set. A typical full-time role would involve working 38 hours per week over a 4 day week, along with our shared weekend rota. You’ll receive time back in lieu for all weekend work. This position also holds the opportunity to travel between our practice sites to cover procedure and consulting days.
A bit about us
We are a multisite practice situated in the Midlands. In addition to our main RCVS Tier 3 accredited hospital. We have 8 practice sites – all our sites are accredited by the RCVS under the Practice Standards Scheme. We have a talented and enthusiastic team of 25 Veterinary Surgeons, as well as our roster of New Grad Vets that are supported by an exceptional team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants and Client Care Advisors.
Many of our team, both vets and nurses, are certificate holders including Medicine, Surgery, ECC, Ophthalmology and Imaging and we actively encourage and support Certificate study. Our main hospital is well equipped with a CT scanner, MRI, Advanced Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Digital X-ray, Dental radiography, and multiple surgical suites, as well as an onsite hydrotherapy & rehabilitation centre and benefits from a multi-disciplinary specialist led referral service.
At our Shelton Lock location, we offer a range of veterinary services. We have 3 well sized consultation rooms for veterinary consultations and nurse clinics, plus a prep area and operating theatre to carry out routine procedures such as dentals, neutering and lump removals. There are also separate dog and cat wards for your pet’s recovery post-surgery. In addition, the practice also offers a dispensary, imaging room with x-ray and ultrasound facilities, laboratory and retail area. The waiting area for clients has separate cat and dog sections to help foster our dog friendly and cat friendly approach.
