At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

About us

Cogges Veterinary surgery is a small animal practice based in Witney, Oxfordshire. Witney is a lovely Market town with a wide range of shops, eateries and weekly market all set in an idyllic location. Oxford is a short drive away and beautiful Cotswold villages are right on your doorstep, making Witney a perfect choice to live and work.

First opened in May 1993, we've been growing ever since and have built a fantastic reputation, whilst working hard to form an integral part of the community. We have an experienced team of 7 vets, including certificate holders in Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging. We are a very nurse led practice and the whole team work closely together to provide a high standard of clinical care. We have all the kit and equipment that you'd come to expect, with digital x-ray, a high spec ultrasound with phased array probes, dental x-ray, in house lab and tonometry.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Hours of work

Ideally, we’re looking for someone to cover a role that’s between 30 - 40 hours per week, working anything from 3 – 5 days. There’s also 1:6 sole charge weekends that you’ll receive time back in lieu for. We can offer some flexibility in the role, however we do need Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays covering at a minimum.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:

A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
