We are currently looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, forward-thinking team at Biscot Mill Vet Centre in Luton, Bedfordshire, LU3 1AZ. This is a 50:50 consulting and surgery role. Ideally, the position would be 40 hours a week over 4 or 5 days, but we are open to discussing different shift patterns. Saturdays are 1 in 3 from 8:30am-12:30pm; along with no Sundays, Bank Holidays, and no OOHs so there is plenty of time to enjoy the weekend and achieve that important work-life balance!

Our people are at the heart of everything that we do, and that’s why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our people to be their best selves. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle no matter what stage you are in your career.

About Biscot Mill Veterinary Centre

We are a busy small animal town practice, with a progressive attitude that takes pride in the high standards of care that we provide. Our nursing team, led by our Head Nurse, Emily, is particularly keen on pain management and local anaesthesia techniques and are happy to share this with any future colleagues! We have recently invested in dental x-ray and a new dental suite, alongside the usual gadgets such as digital x-ray, ultrasound, tonopen, multiparameter monitoring equipment, blood haematology and biochemistry, bair huggers and blood pressure machines. Being in Luton we are close to the airport with fast links to London and motorways.

Our team and culture

We are in the process of building our clinical team but have the potential and facilities to become a 3 Vet practice. However, we have a motivated and proactive nursing team, consisting of 2 RVNs, 1 SVN and 2 VCAs, who provide high level of support and are confident with schedule 3 procedures and consulting. We also have a full reception team and practice manager to provide excellent client care. Our new team member will be supported, and in turn support other members of the team, promoting wellbeing and a positive work environment.
