This position would suit a vet with previous exposure to mixed practice who is confident working independently and keen to continue developing their clinical skills within a collaborative environment.

 

 

A Varied Caseload That Keeps Every Day Interesting

One of the biggest attractions of this role is the diversity of work available.

On the farm animal side, you'll be supporting local farming clients with herd and flock health planning, fertility work, routine procedures, preventative healthcare, calvings, lambings and emergency call-outs. You'll have the chance to build genuine relationships with farmers and become a trusted advisor within the local agricultural community.

Alongside this, you'll be involved in a busy and rewarding small animal caseload. From consultations and routine preventative care through to medical workups, surgery and inpatient care, you'll be able to maintain and further develop your companion animal skills. For candidates who would like to increase their confidence in certain aspects of small animal practice, support and training can be provided.

This is the kind of role where no two days are ever quite the same.

 

 

A Rota Designed for Support and Balance

We know that work-life balance matters.

The rota includes a 1-in-4 on-call commitment, with time off in lieu provided, ensuring your additional efforts are recognised and balanced appropriately.

Weekday shifts are shared across the team and rotate between: 8:00am to 5:00pm; or 11:00am to 8:00pm.

Weekend responsibilities are shared within a supportive veterinary team, ensuring a fair and manageable workload.

Our clinical facilities include dedicated surgical theatres, an advanced dental suite, in-house laboratory equipment, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and rapid diagnostic capabilities. These resources allow our team to work cases thoroughly and maintain a high standard of clinical care across both farm and companion animal patients.

You'll be joining a welcoming team of 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Veterinary Nurses and an experienced support team, all working closely together to provide outstanding care to our patients and clients. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and we pride ourselves on creating an environment where colleagues support one another, share knowledge and continue to develop professionally.

We're also passionate about animal welfare within our local community, supporting local rescue organisations, charity initiatives and neutering programmes throughout the year.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from Veterinary Surgeons who enjoy the challenge and variety of mixed practice and are committed to providing excellent clinical and client care.

To be considered, you'll need to be:

A VCI-registered Veterinary Surgeon.

Eligible to work in Ireland (visa sponsorship is not available for this position).

Comfortable working across both farm and companion animal practice.

Confident managing medical and surgical cases.

A strong communicator who enjoys building relationships with clients and colleagues.

Committed to continuous professional development and learning.

While we welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds, this role is best suited to vets who have already gained some experience within mixed practice. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for new graduates requiring a high level of structured mentorship.
