A Practice Where You’ll Feel at Home

Fairview Veterinary Hospital is a well-established small animal practice with a strong reputation and a genuine community feel. You’ll be joining a close-knit, welcoming team of three vets and two experienced support staff who work collaboratively and support one another day to day. The atmosphere is relaxed, respectful, and built around maintaining both high clinical standards and a healthy work-life balance. Flexibility is already part of how the team operates, helping create a positive and sustainable working environment.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon to take on a varied and rewarding first-opinion GP role. This position offers the opportunity to manage a broad caseload, combining consultations, case work-ups, and routine surgical procedures. You’ll have the autonomy to practise high-quality medicine while being supported by an approachable and experienced team. This role will suit a confident, all-round GP vet who enjoys both medicine and surgery and values building strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

About You

To be considered, you must be VCI registered and have solid experience in first-opinion small animal practice. You should be confident in routine surgery and general medicine, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. This role is not suitable for new graduates, as prior hands-on experience is essential.

Working Pattern

The position is based on a 40-hour week, with a mix of 8am–5pm and 10am–7pm shifts, along with one in three Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. There are no out-of-hours requirements. The practice is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm, and we are happy to tailor your rota within these hours to suit your lifestyle where possible.
