If you’re an early-career Veterinary Surgeon looking for the right place to build confidence, develop your clinical skills, and feel genuinely supported, Beechwood Veterinary Clinic offers an ideal environment to begin your next chapter.
This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established, close-knit Dublin practice where learning is encouraged, mentorship is built into the team, and you’re given the time and support to grow into a confident, well-rounded clinician.
Working alongside an experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon and a supportive nursing team, you’ll gain exposure to a varied and interesting caseload while developing your skills in both medicine and surgery.
This role is designed to give you hands-on experience without overwhelming pressure. You’ll be supported with case discussions, guidance on clinical decision-making, and the opportunity to gradually build your surgical confidence at a pace that suits your development.
Your day-to-day will include consultations, assisting and progressing into routine surgical procedures, diagnostic work-ups, and ongoing case management - all within a team that values learning and collaboration.
This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour working week, typically across 4 or 5 days. The clinic operates between 8:00am and 6:30pm, with structured shifts that allow for a smooth and manageable day.
You’ll take part in a 1 in 2 Saturday morning rota (8:15am–1:15pm), with no Sundays, no out-of-hours, and no bank holiday commitments.
The focus is on giving you consistent clinical exposure while ensuring you have the time and energy to continue learning and developing outside of busy clinical hours.
Beechwood Veterinary Clinic is a modern, well-maintained small animal practice located in Ranelagh - one of Dublin’s most vibrant and well-connected areas.
The clinic is fully equipped to support high-quality first-opinion care, with digital X-ray, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, and a dedicated surgical theatre. You’ll have access to all the tools you need to work cases properly and build strong clinical foundations.
The team is small, friendly, and genuinely supportive, creating an environment where you’ll always feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and learning from those around you.
This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon in the early stages of their career who is keen to learn, develop, and become a confident GP vet.
You’ll need to be VCI registered (or eligible), motivated to grow your clinical skills, and enjoy working as part of a team. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and good communication skills are far more important here than years of experience.
We’re committed to helping you build a long-term, rewarding career. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll have access to structured support, funded CPD, and opportunities to pursue further qualifications as your interests develop.
